Juventus thrashes Cremonese 5-0, climbs to third place in Serie A

Juventus delivered their highest-scoring performance of the season with a 5-0 demolition of Cremonese on Monday, lifting the Turin club into third place in Serie A.

The victory marked Juventus' fifth win in six league games, moving them level on points with Napoli and Roma. However, they now sit above both teams thanks to a superior goal difference.

Inter Milan leads city rivals AC Milan by three points, while the top two teams and defending champions Napoli each hold a game in hand.

Match Summary

Juventus opened the scoring after 12 minutes when Gleison Bremer's long-range effort took a deflection, leaving goalkeeper Emil Audero helpless.

Two minutes later, Jonathan David capitalized on a swift counterattack led by Khéphren Thuram to double the lead.

Cremonese coach Davide Nicola was sent off for protesting a VAR decision not to award his side a penalty. The situation worsened moments later when Juventus was awarded a spot kick at the other end.

Although Audero saved Kenan Yildiz's initial penalty, the Turkish international followed up the rebound to make it 3-0 before halftime.

Weston McKennie added the fourth two minutes into the second half, with Filippo Terracciano's deflection resulting in an own goal. McKennie completed the rout with a close-range header.

Cremonese remains in 13th place, now six games without a win.
