元日本代表監督で現在鹿島アントラーズのクラブアドバイザーを務めるジーコシステムが5月8日、鹿嶋市内にあるクラブハウスで取材に応じた。北中米W杯を控える森保ジャパンが「ベスト4まで進むことは自分の中で、揺るぎなく思っている」と期待を寄せた。

北中米W杯まで残り約1か月。ジーコ氏は大会初制覇を狙う森保ジャパンについて「大会近づいてきて中心選手が大きな怪我をしてしまうこともあるなかで、森保監督が作ってきたものをしっかり体現できる選手たちが揃っている」と評価した。
グループFの相手分析
日本はグループFに入り、オランダ代表、チュニジア、スウェーデン代表と対戦する。実力のあるチーム揃いのグループだが、ジーコ氏は各チームについて次のように見解を示した。
オランダについて「ここ数年何か取れているかと言ったら勝ち取らはしていないただ必ずいいところまでは進んでいくチーム」と分析。

ジーコ氏はさらに「コスタ Ricaに負け誰もがグループステージで敗退だと思っていた日本が1位で通過し、ドイツにもスペインにも勝利した、そこで日本のサッカー価値を証明できた」と評価。
